NUCB Business School


NUCB, the first generation private university in Japan, was founded in 1935 by Yuichi Kurimoto, who was the first Japanese person to graduate from the University of Alberta in 1930. Over the last 80 years, NUCB has become known worldwide as a premier educational institution.

NUCB established its Business School in 1990 and launched graduate-level educational programs to develop skilled and innovative business managers.

In 2003 NUCB Business School launched the first EMBA program in Japan. In accordance with the key principles of self-respect and pragmatic thinking espoused by Yuichi Kurimoto, NUCB Business School produces distinguished leaders who take initiative in reforming established business activities and starting new ventures to contribute to the advancement of society.

2000 One-year evening MBA programme in Information Technology Management launched
2003 Two-year Executive MBA launched
2004 Two-year M.Sc. in Taxation launched
2005 Two-year MIM (English-track) launched

2005 Tokyo campus opened
2006 The School becomes the second institution in Japan to be accredited by AACSB International
2007 Osaka Campus opened
2009 The School becomes the first institution in Japan to be accreditation by the Association of MBAs (AMBA)
2009 Membership of Association of Asia-Pacific Business School (AAPBS)
2011 Non-degree executive education launched
2011 Membership of Principle for Responsible Management Education (PRME)
