  • As part of the selection of ABE Initiative, which is a JICA program, I have the opportunity as other young Africans to study in Japan to contribute to the development of my country once back, essentially in private sector. I chose the NUCB Business School to realize my project of doing my MBA because of the accreditation and also I was particularly interested in the "Global Leader Program" offered to get involved in a multi-cultural environment and to develop my leadership skills that I will need for my next career of making business and building the bridge between Japan and my country.

  • Coming from a very remote, developing country in the Pacific – Kiribati – the NUCB Business School provides more prospective opportunities to learn business in-depth from a global perspective. The courses are structured more conducive to active participation, open sharing and exchanging ideas and thoughts with rich diverse people (students) whom they have more realistic and exciting experiences and thats what I value the most.

  • At the NUCB Business School, I met some of the people who influenced me the most in my life, forming bonds that will last for a lifetime. Overcoming the challenges posed by the different culture and a new learning approach was much easier with the support of my fellow classmates.

About MBA

MBA

MBA stands for Master of Business Administration, and there are three organizations that accredit MBA programs internationally (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS). The standard MBA program in Japan and the U.S. requires one to two years of study. The MBA is a degree in business administration, not a proprietary qualification like those for accountants and lawyers.

In the U.S., the home of the MBA, 100,000 MBAs graduated per year. It has been reported that 60% of general managers in listed companies hold an MBA degree or higher. The two major industries in which demand for MBAs is high worldwide are finance and securities, and healthcare and pharmaceuticals. The reason for this is that industries that have traditionally been protected by barriers to entry are undergoing restructuring on a global scale.
