Economics for Executives

Entry Closed

In this class, we will learn how to create a "business organization that experiments" as one of the ways for a company to create knowledge that brings development to the business world and society. In recent years, many companies in the US and Europe have begun to adopt "business experiments" in their business processes. They formulate hypotheses, conduct experiments to test them, collect data, and use the feedback to adjust their business course. Companies like Amazon and Facebook conduct tens of thousands of such experiments per year. In the first half of the class, we will learn about these "business experiments," how they are conducted, and how they are used to make business decisions.

Review

  • The first half of the course was academic, and the second half was about organizations experimenting from company examples using books, and the importance of people in a company.

  • This was one of the best classes I have ever taken. I was able to deepen my awareness of the organizations we were experimenting with from multiple perspectives, and finally, I was able to generalize and apply the findings to my own environment. I learned a lot from the diverse comments of the class participants. The class was very realistic and I enjoyed participating in it.
