Review

  • Be able to think about the nature of business from a tax perspective. Be able to analyze management decisions from the perspective of tax benefits, non-tax costs, and business rationality.

  • The points he wanted to convey were clear (tax benefits, non-tax costs, business reasons). It was a great learning experience for me because it is not often that I have the opportunity to discuss the connection between taxation and strategy.

  • Easy to understand and detailed instruction for those who do not know the basics about taxation. The take home message should be clear.

  • This class helped me to dispel the sense of dislike I had for taxes due to my ignorance of taxes. I also strongly felt that tax strategies, business strategies, and governance are closely interrelated and that tax knowledge is necessary to develop optimal business strategies. It was a very meaningful class with a very good balance of knowledge and practice. Thank you very much.

    Office Worker 40s Male

  • I have learned a great deal about taxes.I have a meeting as soon as tomorrow and I will use what I have learned over the past two days for my management issues. Thank you very much, Dr. Nakamura.

    Office Worker 40s Male

  • The environment was conducive to active participation in the discussion, as the company was open to any comments. Although taxation is difficult, the assignment was possible even without deep knowledge of the subject. Management and taxation are well matched and can be applied to practical business.

  • The professor's personality was wonderful and he led us in a warm and easy-to-understand manner. The level of the students was high, and I learned a lot from their presentations and comments. Thank you very much.

    Office Worker 30s Male

  • It was interesting that even people with little knowledge of taxation could understand the concepts and think about how they could be applied to corporate management. In particular, I did not fully understand the intent of tax planning before the lecture, but the group discussion and the professor's explanations deepened my understanding.
