Admission Information


Application Requirements


Global MBA (English Track) applicants

  • A minimum of 16 years of education (including a bachelor degree) or equivalent (※1)
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional, full time work experience (※2)
  • GMAT or GRE score (※3)
  • English proficiency exam score (※4)

MiM (MSc in Management) applicants

  • A minimum of 16 years of education, including a bachelor degree or equivalent (※1)
  • English proficiency exam score (※4)

Notes on requirements

※1. If fewer than 16 years of education is standard in the country in which you earned your bachelor's degree, please submit a response to preliminary screening to confirm eligibility.
※2. Full-time internships undertaken after graduation from a bachelor degree program can be counted toward the work experience requirement for MBA admission consideration.
※3. Official test results must be provided by the testing service directly to our office. Prospective applicants may qualify for a GMAT/GRE Waiver. Review the Preliminary Screening section to learn more.
※4. A minimum qualifying score is required from one of the following exams: TOEFL PBT (550), TOEFL iBT (80), IELTS (6.0), TOEIC (800), Duolingo DET (115), Pearson PTE-A (55), or Cambridge CPE (169). Official test results must be provided by the testing service directly to our office.  English proficiency test score requirement is waived for those who have completed a bachelor or master degree program taught entirely in English.


Preliminary Screening

Applicants who are unsure of which program they can apply for or who wish to have the GMAT/GRE requirement waived should submit documents for Preliminary Screening or GMAT/GRE Waiver prior to application. Please submit the following documents to the admissions office via the appropriate form linked below before commencing the online application.

  • CV/Resume
  • Scanned PDF of the official undergraduate transcript showing your GPA
  • English language test score (if applicable) or other evidence of English proficiency

*The GMAT/GRE waiver is an assessment of various factors of the candidate's professional and academic background. The application process is similar to the application for preliminary screening except for one additional requirement:

  • Essay (350-400 words). Please find the essay prompt within the GMAT/GRE Waiver submission form in the description for the essay submission field.

GMAT or GRE exams are available both at test centers and online – giving you the convenience and flexibility to plan your testing strategy.

Please note that the Online Application can be completed and submitted when the application window is open, and our admissions staff will contact the applicant with further instructions once the online application is complete. All application windows close at 18:00 JST on the application deadline date.

*Only applicants who do not require visa sponsorship upon enrollment (domestic applicants) may apply for the earlier of the two semesters available for admission consideration.

Please be aware that all dates listed above are according to Japan Standard Time and may vary according your local timezone.

Examinations may be requested on demand for those who require an early decision or deadline based decision (for scholarship such as MEXT), after submitting your application please contact the school to request an examination date.


Admission Procedure

Please follow the steps below. Please note that applications close at 18:00 JST on the application deadline date.


1. Online Application

Click the "Online Application" button and complete the online application form.

2. Screening Fee Payment

The application screening fee for the MBA & MiM is JPY 20,000 for international applicants and JPY 26,000 for domestic applicants. Applicants are required to pay the fee by credit card in order to submit the online application form. Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and Diner's Club cards are accepted. An administrative fee of JPY 850 will be applied. Those unable to pay by credit card are asked to wire transfer the application screening fee to the account detailed below.

Please note that the screening fee is nonrefundable under any circumstances.


3. Submit the Application Documents Online


Submit the rest of the application materials online by either of the following methods:


Click the "Online Submission" button on the Admission page and attach your application documents. A Google Account is required to use this submission method. If you do not have a Google Account, we strongly recommend that creating one for applying to our school.

  • Answers to essay questions (three pages)
  • Color passport-type photo (JPEG or PNG / Height:Width 4:3)
  • Graduation certificate (bachelors) / confirmation of expected graduation
  • Transcript of Grades (with certified translation if not in English)
  • Passport with passport number page clearly shown
  • Certificate of health (from your primary physician in your home country)
  • Financial Status Letter

Also required by email to entry@gsm.nucba.ac.jp : Two (2) Recommendation Letters, which for security must be written, signed and submitted directly by the writers as pdfs.

  • Resume / CV if not already submitted (Required for MBA applicants, recommended for MiM)
  • Application for Family Business Successors (applies to those applicants ONLY whose family is running their own business)
  • Letter of Consent from Employer (applies to those applicants ONLY whose employer is sponsoring/paying for their degree program)
  • Japanese Residence Card if held (i.e. for domestic applicants)
  • TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC/(Doulingo English Test) / (PTE)-A (PTE-Academic English Test) / CPE (Cambridge English Proficiency Test) (only for non-native English speakers who have not completed their undergraduate or graduate program in English)
  • GMAT/GRE score (only if you are applying for MBA and did not receive GMAT Waiver)
  • Any other certifications or qualifications you wish to submit to support your application.

Admissions Assessment

For MBA applicants, the admissions procedure comprises the assessment of application documents followed by an interview with faculty members. MSc (MIM) applicants will in addition take a written essay examination in timed conditions. For applicants outside Japan, these will be conducted via Zoom.
