Corporate MBA

The benefits of MBA-style employee development programs

Do you find that traditional corporate training falls short in developing employee skills? While hierarchical or task-specific training has its benefits, programs focused solely on knowledge and principles can be limiting. Our offerings integrate the essence of world class, internationally accredited MBA programs to provide innovative content tailored to your needs through our Focused Program courses and fully customized corporate training solutions.

The NUCB Business School corporate training experience

Corporate training encompasses various facets and the essence of these programs can be divided into two primary categories: management training and innovation training. Management training is designed for executives and candidates, emphasizing leadership and analytical thinking. Innovation training focuses on fostering creative thinking to develop human resources capable of driving new initiatives, such as new technologies, products, projects, businesses, and markets.

The key advantage of the NUCB Business School corporate training program is that it is led by qualified and experienced faculty members, not just consultants. All courses employ the case method style, using business cases that reflect real-world company challenges. Participants engage in discussions facilitated by faculty members who are adept at both business analysis and leading class discussions. These discussions involve tackling difficult questions and debating management decisions, allowing participants to defend and argue their approaches to various issues. NUCB Business School delivers corporate training with the following distinct features under the Customized Program portfolio.

  • 1. Fully customized programs

In Western countries, there is an increasing trend of conducting employee training in collaboration with business schools. These schools, drawing on years of experience in MBA education, offer tailored human development programs to address the challenges faced by companies. Business schools excel particularly in areas crucial for nurturing the next generation of key personnel, such as "strategic thinking," "innovative thinking," "leadership," and "global mindset." By combining systematically structured MBA programs with individual MBA courses, it is possible to create a fully customized program. Furthermore, training sessions can be held at your company's training facilities or in our classrooms which are optimized for case discussions.

  • 2. Diverse cross-industry setting

Have you ever felt that discussions in group training sessions become repetitive and uninspired? To generate the innovative ideas that leaders expect from corporate training - such as for new products, projects, or businesses - diversity is essential. In fact, in Western-style corporate training, it is common to value participants' diverse backgrounds and send them to business schools for short-term programs lasting several days in length. These programs do not lead to an MBA but offer the essence of an MBA tailored to individual business needs through single courses each two days in length. Many of our MBA Focused Program courses are conducted virtually via Zoom, making it easy to incorporate them into a fully customized training program.

  • 3. Accessible MBA courses

Are you finding the costs of sending executives to overseas business schools for corporate training too high, or experiencing low retention rates after they obtain their MBAs? We offer a weekend MBA program that allows employees to take part in the learning experience while maintaining their professional commitments. This program, which annually attracts 600 working professionals, provides an excellent training environment where participants can engage in discussions and network with peers from diverse industries and roles. Furthermore, our grading system is based on the relative evaluation standard which ensures that participants put forth their best effort. Government subsidy programs are also available to employers to significantly reduce the costs associated with employee skill development training.

  • 4. Business succession for SMEs

We offer a business succession training program tailored to address the unique challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises, where successor development often takes precedence over general employee training. In this program, participants will have the opportunity to understand the founder's vision, principles, and teachings, as well as how the business has evolved over time. They will collaborate with our faculty to develop long-term growth strategies for their companies. This program provides a learning environment for next-generation leaders who share common challenges, such as struggling with adapting the corporate culture inherited from their predecessors to the current industry environment.

  • 5. Custom-made cases and instructor training

If you are an HR professional looking to conduct internal corporate training or to develop an in-house instructor for future sessions, NUCB Business School can create a customized case study based on your company's history and current management issues. While your employees participate in our MBA Focused Program courses, this tailored case study can be integrated into your corporate training sessions to stimulate discussion and engagement. By utilizing the case method and addressing your company's specific needs, these training sessions will encourage a proactive mindset in employees, essential for their development and the growth of your organization.

The next level of human resource development training

If you have explored various corporate training programs but remain unsatisfied with the outcomes, or if you believe that traditional training fails to adequately motivate your employees, consider incorporating an MBA requirement for mid-career recruitment or promotion. This strategy leverages the concept that employees who see obtaining an MBA as a "self-investment" for their future will be more motivated to learn. The efforts made in earning an MBA can be recognized in the workplace by entrusting credentialed employees with larger and more impactful projects. Engaging in meaningful work serves as the ultimate motivator, creating a win-win situation for both individual employees and for the organization.

Career Development Promotion Grant

The 'Career Development Promotion Grant' from the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare is a system that provides financial assistance for tuition fees associated with sending employees who are insured under employment insurance to domestic graduate schools in order to develop their vocational skills. Furthermore, with the revision on December 2, 2022, the annual subsidy limit for each individual business location has been increased, allowing for the possibility of sending multiple employees for MBA programs. This significantly reduces the cost of employee education for companies.
