Professor Yunus had defined many principles and guidelines to start social business and this was one of the success factors. Binu Kumar, the protagonist was influenced by Professor Muhammad Yunus’ s concept of social business and Professor Ted Katagi (Harvard, MBA) at NUCB, Nagoya. Binu realized the importance of social business which is outside the profit-seeking world. Its goal is to solve a social problem by using business methods, including the creation and sale of products or services. Setting up a self-sustaining business is like starting an engine that never stops running; it does not need any fuel from outside. It returns the original investment. Within the social business, money is recycled again and again. Based on the learning from NUCB, Binu decided to start social business to address social problem in his village at Kerala to support poor farmers to increase their income and prepare the business plan.
