Yutaka Kato

Biography

Dr. Kato holds a Ph.D. from Kobe University. He was a professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University, and Dean of the Graduate School of Business Studies, Doshisha University before joining the NUCB Business School. He is currently a director of ONO PHARMACEUTICAL CO., LTD., chairman of the third-party committee of Japan Freight Railway Company, an independent member of Ishihara Chemical Co., Ltd. and a member of the editorial board of Melco Management Accounting Research. He has also been awarded an honorary professorship from Kobe University. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina, University of Colorado, San Diego State University, Ghent University, London School of Economics, Oxford University, University of Manchester and University of Sheffield. He is a former President of the Japanese Association for Cost Accounting Research, and has served as Director, Executive Director and Vice-President of the Japanese Association of Management Accountants.
