  • STEP1

Individual Preparation: Reading and comprehending the case; formulating hypotheses

Case books are distributed electronically to students two weeks before the start of class, for consideration of the success factors of the company and the reasons behind the challenges it faces. Whilst considering other books and materials recommended by the faculty, students are required to complete their own thoughts and hypothesis with regards to an assignment as a preliminary exercise in advance of class.

  • STEP2

Group discussions: Build up discussions and draw conclusions

Class starts with a group session. A small number of participants designated in advance by the university gather in a group room to exchange opinions on issues and share their thoughts. By expressing various opinions under the guidance of the group leader, students can organize thoughts and deepen their own understanding of the case.

  • STEP3

Overall discussion: Pursuing the best management decisions in class

"This company's project is likely to fail, but is it okay to proceed as it is? Do you agree / disagree?"
Under the facilitation of faculty members, discussions such as this are held through voting and raising hands. By bringing together opposing opinions from various perspectives, the inquiry can be deepend. The ultimate purpose of the case method is not to draw any single conclusion in the class, but instead to consider what you would do if you encountered the kind of situation depicted in the case in the future, and to reconsider that attitude.

  • Case Method

Management requires logical thinking, creativity, and leadership. Participants will enhance their management attitude and experience by reliving more than 200 cases through discussions over two years.
