Future Store“NOW” 2017
Abstract
Although it was a food retailing industry that had achieved steady growth after the war, the role required by changes in social situation has also changed in recent years. However, as a result of steady growth for many years, the structure and culture have been completed at a high level, and response to change has been heavy. New Supermarket Association of Japan, a trade group, launched the project "Future Store NOW" to think about the supermarket in the near future, but while discussing with the supermarket managers, it has come to light that changing the structure and culture that the predecessors made have been difficult. In this case, existing business categories with a long history explore various possibilities as to how to sort what to destroy and what to leave and make innovation.
