Abstract
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of Japan's largest manufacturing companies, and among its diverse product lines is a division that manufactures defense aircraft. While this division is No. 1 in the defense aircraft industry and has maintained this position for many years, it has experienced various accidents in the past, which has contributed to its organizational culture. In addition, the characteristics of aircraft products make high quality essential, and this has created an organizational culture that prioritizes stability over change. Therefore, this study clarifies the factors that lead to the formation of such an organizational culture, and summarizes the impact of organizational culture on employee engagement and practical methods for organizational culture change.
