#Innovation #Strategy #Sustainability

Abstract

On March 3rd of 2023 in the post pandemic era, paved a new way for Boeing to harness the need for a lead facility in the APAC region with the establishment of the global research and development center of the sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) in central Japan’s Aichi prefecture, in the city of Nagoya. In partnership with Japan’s Ministry of Economic, Trade and Industry (METI), this new research facility would help Boeing be the Aviation leader in sustainable fuels, automation and high-performance aerospace composites for greater sustainability. This blue market ocean was paving the way for Japan, to be a growing economic leader in the post pandemic world. This case study will start by the need for understanding the importance of why these sustainable aviation fuels are a key game changer for a net zero emission and carbon neutrality as well as for long term sustainability with strategic movements in the aviation market. As it stands, BR&T is riding the post pandemic world, with the world voicing concerns on a carbon neutral aviation, and Japan stands to gain the most! The only downside to this, where would the innovation happen? Where would the base of operations be? Will BR&T in Japan go down the same road as its counterparts in the APAC go through in terms of low Return on Investment.
