Selling mask straps conceived by the Center for Entrepreneurs

The Center for Entrepreneurs' "No more lost masks! Mask Chain" is now available for sale.

Masks are now a necessity due to the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). In response, our Center for Entrepreneurs came up with the idea of selling "mask straps and mask chains" on the Yahoo! Shopping and Rakuten marketplaces. The idea was conceived by the faculty members of the Center for Entrepreneurs and their students in order to find opportunity in continuing uncertainty, and was commercialized in just five days. The product was sold on the webstore of a company owned by an MBA alumnus of our school, with the initial run of 31 units selling out in two weeks. Customers who purchased the product said, "I can use it as if it were an accessory," "I can disinfect the whole product, so I don't have to worry," and "This is a product I always wanted to have!"

Activities at the Center for Entrepreneurs

The Center for Entrepreneurs is an incubation (start-up) center where MBA holders, faculty members, and residents constantly engage in design thinking and respond to the times with guidance and education for those who want to start a business (second business, entrepreneurship, new business) or acquire entrepreneurial skills (business creation, business building, management skills, and human and financial connections). As mentioned above, MBA holders, faculty members, and residents are constantly engaged in design thinking to incubate successful startups. Past residents have developed a system for making diagnostic appointments at clinics and a system to help orchard farmers with labor shortages. In this way, the School supports the realization of new business development by utilizing the knowledge learned in the MBA program.
