Empowering Egyptian Educators: Sakura Science Exchange Program at NUCB Business School

#StudyTour #PartnerSchool

The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) established the Sakura Science Program to promote academic and cultural exchange between Japan and researchers from around the world. This initiative supports short-term study visits for outstanding students and faculty, fostering collaboration in science and technology.

In the first week of February, NUCB Business School welcomed eight visiting researchers from the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (EJUST) for a specialized program focused on business education, designed to equip participants with essential teaching methodologies and analytical skills.

Dean for External Relations Prof. Dr. Kenji Yokoyama oversaw the initiative, while Professor Ricardo Lim led workshops on the case method teaching approach. Professor Katsunobu Sasanuma provided training in business analytics, emphasizing its applications in management education.

Participants also explored practical insights through a visit to the Nagoya Science Museum and engaged in discussions with industry professionals during a lunch hosted by Toyota Tsusho before synthesizing their learnings in a final presentation, which was shared before an audience of their peers and the professors in charge of the program.

Providing educators with case method teaching skills is vital for fostering interactive and practical learning environments. Business analytics, as a growing field, plays a crucial role in decision-making within management science programs. By integrating these methodologies, the Sakura Science Program helps educators refine their teaching techniques, ensuring future business leaders are well-prepared for data-driven decision-making.
