Fresh Faces and New Cases: Fall 2025 Starts Strong
NUCB Business School welcomed the start of the fall semester today at our Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka campuses, bringing together a diverse group of new and continuing students representing 50 countries. The energy at the Nagoya campus was palpable as students arrived for the first of our four-day weekend courses this semester, eager to engage with new challenges and opportunities.
Day 1 featured an engaging lineup of courses designed to provide practical insights and critical thinking skills.
- In the Global MBA Marketing Management class, Professor Gyung Yeol Yang guided students through Starbucks’ customer service strategies and ZARA’s global expansion, challenging them to apply market segmentation, targeting, and positioning frameworks in real-world contexts.
- Meanwhile, in the EMBA Marketing Management course, Professor Yukihiro Makita led discussions on Hong Kong Disneyland and Netflix, helping students think strategically about brand management, pricing, and promotion in dynamic business environments. Professor Naohiko Oikawa shared his expertise in Digital Marketing, highlighting Starbucks’ digital initiatives and Nike’s social media strategies, offering students hands-on perspectives on the impact of digital marketing on brand perception.
- For MSc in Tax & Accountancy students, Professor Tetsuya Sano’s Financial Accounting session examined the iPhone Upgrade Program case, providing a practical example of how accounting principles intersect with corporate decision-making, ethics, and reporting.
- Additionally, students in Professor Shinichi Takeuchi’s online course, Case Method in Practice, engaged in immersive, interactive case discussions that seamlessly bridged digital learning with real-world business strategy. Participants analyzed complex organizational challenges, debated actionable solutions, and applied critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills.
As Day 1 concluded, the spirit of excellence and innovation was evident throughout the campus. Students and faculty alike, fresh from a rejuvenating summer break, immersed themselves in the philosophy of NUCB Business School: cultivating leaders who combine analytical skills, ethical awareness, and a frontier spirit.
