Rain or Shine, Fall 2026 Begins at NUCB Business School
NEW
Nagoya has seen its fair share of wet weather over the past few weeks, with flooding during student residence check-in week, showers accompanying orientation, a few sprinkles on graduation, and drizzle on the first day of classes. Yet as graduating students pass the torch to a new cohort, the spirit of learning at NUCB Business School remains undimmed and unextinguished, burning bright as the Fall 2026 semester begins.
This semester, students from 52 countries come together in our weekend courses, bringing diverse professional experiences, perspectives, and ambitions into the classroom. Through case discussions and lively exchanges, they will explore business challenges, debate different approaches, and build connections across industries and cultures.
Learning from Experienced Faculty
The first weekend courses of the semester bring together academic insight and extensive professional experience, with students beginning their studies through real-world business cases.
Marketing Management (EMBA) | Professor Yukihiro Makita
Professor Makita’s course explores how market analysis, customer targeting, positioning, and the marketing mix work together to inform business strategy. The opening session introduces marketing frameworks and environmental analysis through the Hong Kong Disneyland case.
Digital Marketing (MBA) | Visiting Professor Naohiko Oikawa
With more than 30 years of experience spanning Dentsu, McKinsey, Mastercard, and other organizations, Professor Oikawa guides students in examining how digital technologies reshape marketing and business environments. Day one explores customer value, NTT Docomo’s i-mode marketing, and Recruit’s use of data to create value.
Marketing Management (MBA) | Professor Yang Gyung Yeol
Drawing on more than 20 years of marketing experience with Samsung, Cheil, and ADK, Professor Yang helps students explore global marketing, brand strategy, customer value, and digital transformation. Day one examines Starbucks’ approach to customer service and Lotte Yukimi Daifuku’s winter ice cream market.
Financial Accounting (MSc in Tax & Accountancy) | Professor Tetsuya Sano
Professor Sano’s course examines the role of financial accounting under sustainable capitalism, helping students apply fundamental accounting concepts through discussion and case analysis. The first day considers how technological advances are changing accounting practices, the purpose and functions of accounting, and the relationship between corporate performance and broader social well-being.
Business Ethics (Executive Education) | Professor Hirotomo Abe
Drawing on more than 40 years of business experience, including senior roles at Mitsui & Co. and extensive work in corporate governance and risk management, Professor Abe leads discussions on ethical leadership, organizational culture, and corporate responsibility. The opening session examines ethical dilemmas, corporate misconduct, and governance failures through cases involving workplace harassment, Mitsui's DPF scandal, and Olympus's accounting scandal.
At NUCB Business School, learning extends beyond the classroom. By bringing together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints, our students develop the critical thinking and global perspectives needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected business environment.
As one cohort begins its journey and another moves forward as graduates, the cycle of learning, growth, and connection continues—rain or shine.
