Global MBA
Nagoya Campus has been operating face-to-face classes since the fall semester of 2020, observing ventilation and social distance, and taking thorough measures against viral infections.
In this class, we will discuss examples of service innovation related to retail, mobility services, servitization of manufacturing, and new markets from various perspectives. We will also extract commonalities and differences among them to understand the key points of service innovation.
On the first day of the class, the theme of the class was "Launching a New Business". After experiencing its first halt in growth in 45 years in the early 1990s and massive losses, IBM invited a CEO from outside and overcame its fundamental problems by boldly reforming its corporate culture and business model. In the early 1990s, IBM experienced its first halt in growth in 45 years and massive losses, and brought in a CEO from outside to overcome its fundamental problems by boldly reforming its corporate culture and business model.
When IBM attempted to create a business, they achieved success by conducting each process in an "experimental" manner, and there was management that played the role of a "supporter" rather than a mere evaluator. In this class, we confirmed the importance of recognizing innovation as an experiment and implementing it, and many students expressed their opinions based on their actual experiences and situations in their own work environment.
