Abstract

This case is about a small company in the hiring business of construction equipment in the Rhône-Alpes region in France. The company was created in 1996 and expanded rapidly with more or less success in different area, through the medium of creating new agencies. Here, we focus only on one agency, in Chignin (in the Chambéry area), founded in 2007 because the general manager, and still owner, of the company felt there was potential in this area. Problems have begun to accumulate, especially human resources problems. By 2010, unusual turnover and work environment issues (complaints from some employees, and so on) had been happening. It aroused the concern of the General Manager who decided to take a closer look to what was going on. The teaching notes consists of giving advises as for the human resources management in this company and help the General Manager in his decisional process to reorganize the whole company.
