Abstract
Okamura Corporation, which is a company with a motto “Quality pays for itself”, has continually grown by producing and providing high-quality products consistently. However, in the industry, commoditization has accelerated, and the world is plunging into the age when good products are no longer in demand. In such situation, the protagonists of this case successfully and “slightly” change the outdated company culture through a bottom-up project. After that, they continue to make “small innovations” through several projects at the company, and “a big innovation” which may completely change the vision of the business administration of Okamura Corporation is about to occur. This case discusses both the realizing method of innovation for a large company and how they can utilize outcomes of the innovation for company’s success.
