Abstract

Cost-managing research and development expenses, especially on clinical studies, is becoming more important in the pharmaceutical industry, due to the fact that developing new drug is becoming more difficult and the demands of lowering the medical expenses is increasing. Therefore, many pharmaceutical companies are proactively outsourcing their work to CRO (Clinical Research Organization) which supports clinical studies. In this case, the ideal level of outsourcing clinical work to CRO in light of their companies’ growth and work efficiency will be considered by measuring the external environment, the internal environment, and the competitive environment of the pharmaceutical industry/CRO.
