#AACSB #International #Accreditation #Conference #Pedagogy

The learning approach – or pedagogy – is how the value is not only delivered to students at business schools but also the spark for understanding new perspectives, engaging in creative dialogue and breaking personal barriers to become global leaders. The session on ‘Interactive Teaching and Learning Approaches’ was a true representation of the Asia Pacific Conference. The Queensland University of Technology MBA Director, Glen Murphy, from Australia and NUCB Business School Professor and Chair for the Center for Case Teaching and Learning, Haruo Takagi, from Japan joined together

On the one hand, Mr. Murphy spoke about QUT’s experimental design approach to learning in the context of leadership and executive development while on the other hand Mr. Takagi discussed how Japanese business schools introduced a new system of learning into their universities and at what level that change was introduced. By sharing the very unique stories of Keio Business School (AASCB accredited and based in Tokyo) and the NUCB Business School (AACSB accredited and based in Nagoya).

The AACSB International Asia Pacific Conference was held in Nagoya, Japan from Oct. 29 – 31 and was hosted at the NUCB Business School Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus. The city of Nagoya has long been the manufacturing heart of Japan and continues to experience explosive growth as a business hub for all of Japan. AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, is one of the three most respected and valued global accreditation bodies that signals the highest level of quality assurance to students, employers, and other business schools around the world. The NUCB Business School is only one of four schools in Japan with AACSB accreditation and the only one with AACSB and AMBA dual accreditation.
