A Night of Music, Culture, and Connection: Spring Welcome Party 2026
NEW #International
Our semesterly welcome party for new students was held on a beautiful late April evening on the 3rd floor of our Marunouchi Tower Campus in Nagoya. As the afternoon light softened into a warm golden hue and classes drew to a close, students, faculty, and alumni gathered for an evening of self-introductions, cultural exchange, and relaxed post-class celebration.
The event opened, as is tradition, with a captivating kenbu (剣舞) performance by EMBA alumnus Seishow Ando (Class of 2018), CEO of Denshow Platform, who continues to promote and preserve traditional Japanese performing arts. His performance set an elegant tone for the evening and reminded everyone of the deep cultural foundations that accompany our global learning environment. Glasses began to clink across the 3rd floor Learning Salon as the dinner service commenced, featuring a spring-inspired buffet and an atmosphere that quickly shifted from formal introductions to lively conversation and connection across programs and nationalities.
Later in the evening, Prof. Ryusuke Koyama took the stage with his guitar and amplifier, joined by EMBA student Osami Sano, to perform a few numbers, adding an unexpected and warmly received highlight to the night. As the evening progressed, the spirit of the party continued to build, culminating in Prof. Hiroshi Uchikoga leading a joyful, karaoke-style singalong of “Yellow Submarine,” bringing students, faculty, and alumni together in a shared moment of music and celebration.
Both professors had been teaching intensive courses over the past two weekends, right up to the start of the party itself, yet still managed to channel what little remaining energy they had into an evening of music that lifted the entire room. With classes now underway and the semester in full motion, the welcome party once again served as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our diverse community—one built on curiosity, collaboration, and a shared enthusiasm for learning across cultures.
