Welcome JICA Students!
On Tuesday, August 28th, the NUCB Business School traveled from Nagoya to Tokyo in order to welcome the latest group of students from Africa under the JICA ABE Initiative for Youth. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) works under the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve the strategic goals of assisting economic and social growth in developing countries and promoting international cooperation with Japan. Under the African Business Education (ABE) Initiative for Youth, JICA targets the continent of Africa to develop better social and economic ties by providing full scholarships and support to young professionals for post-graduate education.
The NUCB Business School is very pleased to welcome three students this round - the fifth and final batch of students in this program - from Senegal, Morocco and Sudan. In total, the NUCB Business School has received twelve full scholarship students from a variety of African countries which also include South Africa, Kenya, Madagascar, Tunisia and Congo.
In addition to providing a life-changing experience for students from Africa to earn their Master's degree in Japan (while learning the cultural and social aspects of the country) the NUCB Business School also receives significant benefits from having these ambitious young professionals in the classroom. With the pedagogy focused 100% on 'Case Method' the value these students provide with their own varied perspectives in professional situations and personal experiences deepens the discussions and learning opportunities for all participants in the courses offered at the graduate school of management.
