Open Webinar #2: "Risk Management of COVID-19: Japan in the Global Perspective"

#MBA #MIM #Japan #Nagoya

On June 4th, NUCB Business School launched the "Leading in Turbulent Times" webinar series, one of two series of open and free webinars being held through June and July. The session entitled "Risk Management of COVID-19: Japan in the Global Perspective" was conducted by Professor Tomofumi Anegawa, an NUCB Business School faculty member who specializes in applied economics, economic policy, and medical or health economics.

Professor Anegawa talked about the current economic situation due to COVID-19 in Japan and interrelated the policies and procedures of Japan with those of other countries. He discussed Japanese government responses to the pandemic and the overall negative reaction from citizens and critics.

His presentation revolved around the mystery surrounding Japan’s seemingly fortuitous success against COVID-19, despite what he referred to as ABE policies: Abrupt, Banal, and Erratic.

Participants joining from overseas were invited to share their experiences dealing with restrictions imposed in response to the pandemic and how it has affected their overall mood.
