Establishing a network of pharmaceutical and medical professionals

Healthcare Network #HealthcareNetwork #NetworkReport

The NUCB Business School students who are active in the pharmaceutical and medical industries account for about 25% of the current students.
Many of the students who have completed the program are also expanding their fields of activity by making use of their MBA degrees.

In response, Professor Yuji Nagasawa initiated the "Healthcare Network Subcommittee" at the Tokyo Campus in the fall of 2014.

A kick-off event was also held at the Nagoya Campus on May 10, where Professor Nagasawa introduced the purpose of the subcommittee and an overview of the activities at the Tokyo Campus.
The Osaka Campus will start its activities in June.

The committee is the "Healthcare Network Subcommittee" of the Strategic Management Institute, which consists of alumni and former members, and has the following four objectives:

  1. Networking and personal exchange among current and former students in the pharmaceutical and medical industries
  2. Learning and enlightenment through mutual exchange among members
  3. Utilization as an expert review and advisory board for case writing
  4. Enlightenment activities by inviting lecturers and external communication activities

The following members are participating in the program: more than 40 in the Tokyo Campus, 35 in the Nagoya Campus, and about 20 in the Osaka Campus.

  • Current and former students working in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Current and former students working in the medical industry
  • Current and former students working in the research and development field

So far, we have had "Discussions on the realization of open innovation in drug discovery," "Discussions with the president of a nursing and medical care venture," and "Discussions on strategies for dispensing pharmacies."

After the Nagoya Campus kickoff, a reception was held.
Everyone who participated in the event actively exchanged opinions and information, and were eager for future activities.

If you are a current or former student involved in the pharmaceutical or medical industry and have not yet joined the "Healthcare Network Subcommittee" of the Strategic Management Institute, please contact the secretariat.
