Healthcare Network

On Sunday, May 27, 2018, the Healthcare Network established by Professor Yuji Nagasawa held its meeting at the Osaka Campus.
The network has more than 300 members in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, mainly current students and graduates working in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, and meets regularly at campuses in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

Healthcare Network

It was not only people engaged in the healthcare industry who participated in this workshop. People from a wide range of industries, such as consulting, manufacturing, distribution, and service industries, participated in order to improve their own insights, and exchanged opinions about the future of healthcare. Discussions with people from various industries and professions have the advantage that even those in the healthcare industry can gain new ideas and insights by being exposed to the thinking of other industries.

Thinking about the next 10 years in healthcare and insurance

On Sunday, May 27, 2018, about 35 current and former students gathered at the Osaka Campus to discuss and present in groups on the four agenda items presented in advance.

Healthcare Network

The following are the four agenda items that were presented this time.
• The next 10 years for the insurance dispensing pharmacy
• Pharmaceutical promotion strategies in the digital age
• A survey of the borders between professions in hospitals
• Consideration of cancer screening

In the first agenda item, "Thinking about insurance dispensing pharmacies 10 years from now," we examined new business models for insurance dispensing pharmacies in the future from the various perspectives of people from other industries. In order to solve the problems faced by pharmacies, such as labor-intensive operations and declining profits for pharmacies, we focused on points such as company size, customer targets, income sources, and service content to examine the agenda.

The presentation that followed also evoked opinions from a variety of perspectives in the medical industry, which is constantly undergoing technological innovation. The Healthcare Network is a place where current students and graduates can actively interact with each other, build a network, and learn from each other, not only while in school but also after graduation.
