On Sunday, December 2, 2018, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Network Subcommittee of the Strategic Management Institute (Healthcare Network), established by Professor Yuji Nagasawa, was held at the Osaka campus. The network has more than 300 members in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, mainly current students and graduates working in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, and meets regularly at campuses in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
It was not only people engaged in the healthcare industry who participated in this workshop. People from a wide range of industries, such as consulting, manufacturing, distribution, and service industries, participated in order to improve their own insights, and exchanged opinions about the future of healthcare. Discussions with people from various industries and professions have the advantage that even those in the healthcare industry can gain new ideas and insights by being exposed to the thinking of other industries.
On Sunday, December 2, 2018, 32 current and former students gathered at the Osaka Campus to discuss and present in groups on the three agenda items presented in advance.
The following are the three presentation titles on the agenda this time.
• Interim report on the project survey on cancer screening
• Make your life better by MBA+Healthcare
• Categorization of innovation and innovation organizations
In the first agenda item, "Interim report of the project survey on cancer screening," we discussed future actions to encourage cancer screening based on the interim report of the project from various perspectives of people from other industries.
The agenda that followed was also filled with opinions from a variety of perspectives in the medical industry, which is constantly undergoing technological innovation. The Healthcare Network is also a place where current students and graduates can actively interact with each other, build a network, and learn from each other, not only while in school but also after graduation.
