ERS Project Report: Ethical Concerns Bridge Academia and Industry
The ERS (Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability) Project course, spearheaded by Prof. M. Mohsin Hakeem, culminated in an inspiring final day as students showcased their innovative solutions to representatives from participating companies. The course, which challenges students to tackle real-world business issues, provided an immersive and practical learning experience that brought together academic theory and corporate practice. On the last day, students delivered their final project presentations, reflecting weeks of research, analysis, and collaborative work. Each team was tasked with addressing a unique challenge faced by their assigned company, proposing actionable solutions rooted in data-driven insights and creative strategy.
In attendance were representatives from Niterra Co. Ltd.'s Sustainability Strategy Department and the DAC project, Marubeni, and from the Aichi Prefectural Government Overseas Collaboration Division of the Bureau of Economy and Industry. The participating representatives were actively engaged throughout the presentations, offering valuable feedback and posing thought-provoking questions. This direct interaction not only validated the hard work of the students but also underscored the real-world applicability of their recommendations.
Prof. Hakeem praised the students for their commitment and creativity, emphasizing the importance of bridging academic learning with industry needs. He remarked, "The ERS Project is designed to push students beyond the classroom, encouraging them to think critically and deliver solutions that drive impact." The event served as a testament to the students' growth throughout the course, preparing them to become future business leaders equipped with problem-solving skills and a practical mindset. We extend our gratitude to Niterra, Marubeni, and the Aichi Prefectural Government for their participation and collaboration.
