Kyoto Connection: Forging Friendships, Sharing Futures with Georgetown MBA Peers

NUCB x Georgetown

In May, NUCB Business School students welcomed MBA candidates from one of our newest partners, Georgetown University, for a full-day cultural exchange and mixer event in Kyoto. Building on our strong network of world-class partners, Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business—ranked among the global top 30 by the Financial Times and U.S. News & World Report—offers even more opportunities for our students to connect with exceptional peers in discussion-based learning, enriched by diverse insights shared in participant-centered case method discussion, or to attend the world-renowned institution itself.

Led by Yumi, an MBA student and Co-President of the Georgetown Japan Society, the visiting delegation included around 20 MBA candidates. Together with a contingent of our students, the group explored iconic sites like Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple, while enjoying shared meals and a friendly evening mixer. In every moment, from lunch to the last toast, students exchanged insights on business education, career development, and cultural discovery.

Reflecting on the day, our MSc student Nicholas Piani expressed that “the diverse cultural background and unique professional experience of both groups made for captivating conversations amid Kyoto’s beautiful and historic locations."

NUCB Business School continues to expand its global footprint through new partnerships and immersive opportunities like this one. Our collaboration with Georgetown University offers not only cultural enrichment and professional exchange, but also the foundation for a lasting academic bridge between two highly international graduate schools.
