Fall 2025 Cultural Enrichment 1&2: Japanese Quality found in Aichi.
Each semester, NUCB Business School invites international students to take part in a series of Cultural Enrichment Events, designed to showcase the exceptional quality and rich traditions that Japan has to offer. The first two events of the term highlighted the renowned craftsmanship and innovation found right here in Aichi Prefecture.

On Wednesday, October 29th, students embarked on an educational visit to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, an institution dedicated to showcasing Japan’s spirit of innovation and craftsmanship. Through immersive exhibits and historical displays, participants explored the evolution of Toyota’s manufacturing excellence and gained deeper insight into the principles of Kaizen, the philosophy of continuous improvement that has defined Japan’s industrial success. The visit offered students a unique opportunity to experience firsthand how tradition, technology, and innovation intersect in one of Japan’s most influential companies.
On Tuesday, November 12th, students visited the Mizkan Museum in Handa City, an interactive facility that brings to life over two centuries of Japanese vinegar and condiment-making heritage. Through hands-on exhibits and multimedia experiences, students learned about Mizkan’s journey from a small local producer to a global food company rooted in sustainability and innovation. The visit provided a unique glimpse into how tradition and modern technology blend to shape Japan’s food culture, offering valuable insights into the country’s approach to craftsmanship, branding, and corporate evolution.
Later that same day, students continued their cultural exploration with a visit to the Kunizakari Sake Museum, also located in Handa City. Housed in a beautifully preserved traditional brewery, the museum offered an in-depth look into the art and history of sake brewing, ne of Japan’s most cherished traditions. Through guided exhibits and displays of historical brewing tools, students discovered how Kunizakari has maintained its dedication to craftsmanship while adapting to modern production methods. The experience offered a deeper appreciation of Japan’s cultural heritage and the meticulous care that defines its approach to quality and innovation.
