Using the West as a model, companies in Japan have implemented their own internal control systems. However, if the implementation process is not handled properly, rather than strengthening regulations it may in fact weaken them.

企業にとって経営者への規律付けの問題は今なお深刻な問題であり続けている。日本企業は欧米の型をお手本にして内部統制制度を導入してきた。しかし、その導入プロセスが適切でなければ統制を強化するどころか弱体化する可能性がある。このリスクを認識した上で導入することが日本企業の課題である。
