The case covers a company named Scanfil—the case explorer strategy in relation to the external environment and the offshore, nearshore, and onshoring strategies. The insight note covers various tools and frameworks for analyzing different strategies and environments. The insight note with the case should help develop strategic- and logical thinking. The case is a tool for teaching strategic decision-making in complex and multifaceted situations, creating a situation where no perfect solution exists. This case study is limited in scope to Strategy and general business management. For example, the case does not cover financial information that is too specific, but financial information is provided as context for strategic decision-making. The aim of the case study is to provide insights, lessons, and new perspectives regarding strategy in a global business environment. The case study and insight note also explore theoretical frameworks and concepts and how they can aid business professionals in situations that do not provide easy solutions. The method used relied heavily on secondary data and primary data as gathered as extra information for creating an interesting case and for confirming the assumptions made from the secondary data. The result of the case study in my analysis was that the situation requires a complex solution: the insight the case was designed to communicate this. A complex situation does not have perfect solutions. In conclusion this case study provides a holistic teaching tool that can provide the Professor a holistic teaching plan with a case that supports the teaching plan. This case study should convey important teachings about strategy and general management.
