SCSK Corporation (hereafter SCSK) was created in October 2011 from a merger between Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation (part of the Sumitomo Group ) and CSK Corporation (hereon CSK). The main player, Uesugi, is a former employee of CSK and is concerned about the future expansion of business process outsourcing (hereafter BPO). The case is composed chronologically of the following aspects. ・Evolution of the business model at CSK Presents business models dictated by changes in the external environment and hands-off management management during the 43 years from the time CSK was established in 1968 through the founder Okawa’s entrepreneurialism until its disappearance in 2011.
